01acceptance
By using fenced at fenced.dev (the "service"), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service. The service is operated by Lars Holmström, based in Melbourne, Australia.
02what fenced is
fenced converts Markdown into self contained HTML entirely within your browser. It is offered free of charge for personal and commercial use. We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time.
03your content
You keep all rights to the Markdown you enter and the HTML you generate. Because conversion happens on your device, we never receive, store, or claim any rights over your content. You are solely responsible for what you create and how you use the output, and for ensuring you have the rights to it.
04source code and license
The fenced source code is open source under the MIT license and is available on GitHub. The MIT license governs the code itself. These terms govern your use of the hosted service at fenced.dev.
05acceptable use
- Do not use the service for any unlawful purpose or to produce unlawful content.
- Do not attempt to disrupt, attack, or reverse the hosted service, or to misuse it in a way that harms others.
- Do not misrepresent the service as your own product or imply endorsement without permission.
06no warranty
The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error free, or that the generated HTML will meet your requirements. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantee, right, or remedy under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded.
07limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss, or for any loss of data or output, arising from your use of the service. Where our liability cannot be excluded but can be limited, it is limited to re supplying the service.
08third party links and services
The service links to third parties such as a tip jar and webfont and analytics providers. We are not responsible for the content or practices of those third parties, which have their own terms and policies. See our privacy policy for how analytics works.
09changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
10governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Victoria, Australia, and you submit to the non exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria. If you are a consumer in the EU or UK, you keep the benefit of any mandatory protections of your local law.
